Help getting started, and answers when something doesn’t work.
Get started
- Download WhenOffline from the App Store or Google Play.
- Follow the introduction. At the end it offers the map where you live, directions and, if your phone can run it, the AI assistant. The download waits until you’re on wifi.
- Everything is also under Mer (More), if you want to download later or change maps.
- Turn off wifi and mobile data and test. Everything should work.
Common problems
The download stops. The download continues in the background, even during a call or when you switch apps. If it stops completely: make sure the phone has wifi and tap Hämta (Download) again. It continues where it left off.
The AI assistant answers slowly. The first answer after starting takes the longest. Close other apps if the phone has little memory.
Ask answers straight from the handbook. Either the phone cannot run the AI assistant, or the AI package has not been downloaded yet. The AI assistant is on iPhone 15 Pro or later and on Android phones with at least 6 GB of memory. The package is offered at the end of the introduction and is under Mer (More). Without it the answers come straight from the handbook, and the map and tools work as usual.
The map does not show my position. Check that WhenOffline is allowed to use Location Services under Settings, Privacy.
Changing phones
If you change phones, download the app again and tap Återställ köp (Restore purchases), using the same Apple ID or Google account.
