Privacy
How WhenOffline handles your data. It is quick to read, because there is not much to handle.
In short
WhenOffline has no accounts and no tracking. What you ask, photograph and read stays on your phone. We cannot see it, and we do not want to be able to.
What stays on your phone
- Your questions, the photos you attach and the answers you get
- The conversation history, until you clear it under Mer (More)
- Your position from GPS, which is only used to show you on the map
- Your checklist and what you have checked off
- Your crisis plan: meeting places, medicines and allergies
- The contacts you chose for the crisis plan. The app only gets the ones you pick, not your whole contact list.
- Your position in the compass
The AI model runs on your phone. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.
When the app uses the internet
Only when you tap Hämta (Download) yourself: for the AI package, maps, addresses or encyclopedia. The files are downloaded from downloads.whenoffline.com, which is hosted by Cloudflare. As with all traffic on the internet, the server sees your IP address when the file is sent. We do not use it to recognise you, and we have not switched on any logging at Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes the IP address to deliver the file and protect against attacks, under its own privacy policy.
Purchase
The app is free. The AI assistant is bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play, which handle the payment. We receive no payment information and do not know who you are.
The website
whenoffline.com uses no cookies and no visitor statistics apart from the click count for buy links, and the pages load nothing from other servers. The website is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes the visitor’s IP address in the same way as for the downloads.
Buy links
The checklist in the app can show buy links. If you tap one, the shop’s website opens via whenoffline.com/kop/. We count how many people click each product per day and store nothing else: no IP address and no ID. The shop can see that you came from WhenOffline and has its own terms.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data about you in the app, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete. You remove everything you have saved by clearing the conversation history, removing what is in the crisis plan or deleting the app.
